Communications Committee

The Communications committee is charged with maintaining the CS-SIS electronic and social media and its print brochure. Per the 2011 Strategic Plan, it also aids in executing Strategic Direction IV: Outreach and Advocacy.

 

The Communications Committee is chaired by the Junior Member at Large.

 

Led by its chair, the committee:

  • selects at least twelve topics, including product reviews, for members to write about on the CS blog on a monthly basis.
    • Potential  authors will include Grant recipients, members of the Emerging Technologies Subcommittee, and members identified by the Recruitment and Involvement Committee
  • promotes CS-SIS programming and activities through its blog, wiki, listserv, and social media channels
  • is responsible for maintaining the CS-SIS website, blog, and wiki
  • is responsible for maintainign the CS-SIS social media sites including Facebook and Twitter
  • works with AALL to update the CS-SIS print brochure every three years

 

The chair:

  • works with the chair of the Archives Subcommittee to incorporate CS-SIS archival material into the SIS website
  • reports briefly on the committee's activities at the CS-SIS business meeting
  • submits a written report to the CS-SIS Chair detailing the committee's activities according to the deadline set by the Chair each year; sends a copy of the report to the Secretary / Treasurer
